Take out Box Lanterns

One of the great things about take out boxes is that they can be used for crafts projects. The following video shows you how to create a beautiful lantern using a Chinese take out box.

Supplies Needed

• Chinese take out box
• Electric tealight candles
• X-Acto knife
• Pencil
• Tape
• Clear string
• Double sided tape
• Translucent paper

Instructions

1.     Take apart the take out box and lay it flat

2.     Draw the desired image on the sides of the box

3.     Cut the image out using the X-Acto knife

4.     Take the translucent paper and tape it to the inside of the box (where you cut the image out)

5.     Place the tealight on the bottom of the box. Trace around the candle and cut out a little section so that the on/off switch is accessible when the box is closed

6.     Use double sided tape to secure the tealight candle to the bottom of the box

7.     Reassemble the Chinese take out box

8.     Use the clear string to hang your take out box lanterns
